The Butterfly Man of India

In production

The Film

Isaac Kehimkar was born in the heart of Mumbai, one of the most crowded and polluted places on Earth. It is here that Isaac discovered his love for nature, which eventually set him on a journey to preserve the nation’s butterflies, earning him the name ‘The Butterfly Man of India’.

Throughout the film, we follow the life cycle of the butterfly through breathtaking visuals to illustrate their crucial role in our ecosystem. We see the environmental challenges posed by urbanization in Mumbai, habitat loss, and the impact of climate change on butterfly migration. Little is known about these migrations, which calls for more research. In order to help protect these creatures, we need to understand their habits and feeding patterns.

Isaac’s NGO plays a crucial role in this by educating children about the importance of butterflies, thus sowing the seeds for a younger generation committed to saving the natural world.

North Sea Nature Untamed

The Film

With a cinema feature film and a 4-part TV series, ‘North Sea‘ aims to unveil the mysteries of the North Sea to a wide audience. Dutch Maritime Productions, in collaboration with EMS Films and M&N Media Group, is behind this ambitious project, set to premiere in September 2024 and subsequently broadcasted on NPO1 by the EO in late 2025.

In my role alongside director Mark Verkerk and edit assistant Sam Reitsma, I contributed to the preselection process during the editing phase. This involved selecting and organizing hours of raw footage received from the cameramen. Scenes involved creatures like the basking shark, puffins, and various fishes, which I categorized based on behavior, species, weather conditions, and more.

Vogels kun je niet melken

The Film

The godwits are disappearing from the Frisian landscape. Farmers have switched to English rye-grass, perfect for cow pastures. But farmer Bote does everything in his power to keep the godwits coming, even if it costs him his farm.

As part of the marketing team, I contributed in crafting the marketing and sales plan, ensuring this important message was conveyed to the right audiences. Through engaging LinkedIn posts, we sparked conversations about agriculture and conservation. I’m proud to say that our efforts have already reached over 10,000 cinema-goers.
